oh yeah, it was fun. We usually start at Woodway, sometime draft to Allen's Landing in downtown, sometime to Cheminy Rock then come back. I just forget that I'm in the center of Houston when I kayak in the bayou. It's quiet and beautiful. I saw cranes, hawks, ducks and lots of turtles... Let me know if you want do it next time, I'll go with you.

that's good, ease back into running. Keep up the stretches, foam rolling, & icing. You'll know you're doing it right if it doesn't get worse & slowly gets better! And yes the garmin has so many functions I've had mine for a year and still haven't figured it all out! Have fun with it!

Sorry about the ITB issues. I've heard a frozen water bottle massage can help and some stretches. Hope ya heal up in time for your marathon.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mlYM3KWwrGY&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PLC0172FF3EBEC2879 this was by far the best stretch I've found that helped my ITB. Also, there's the stretch where you put one ankle over the opposite knee & do a squat while you hold onto something. You need to feel the stretch from your knee all the up to your hip so that you know you're stretching the entire length of the ITB. Also, after EVERY run, ice the whole itb asap. It'll prevent further inflammation

& you can also take NSAIDs (i.e. advil or naproxen) to relieve inflammation as well. I just take it right after a run, possibly with a meal. You dont want to take it forever, but it's ok to take for the time that your ITB is healing, given that you're not allergic or have stomach bleeding issues

I didn't do all my mileage today either. It's ok, your body doesn't forget that quickly. At least you got out to enjoy this beautiful weather! sounds like it could be your itb that is bothering you. Foam roll!

that's good. it will hurt like hell and usually will feel really sore right after you roll, but then it will get much better. Be diligent... i couldn't run much for 2-3 months earlier this year due to ITB. Don't push the running if your body tells you not to! Hope it goes away soon!
