Well, I'm glad that's over. Hit the road at 7:45 after watching most of the first half of the Women's Marathon. Really gross out in the low 70's with very high humidity.

To be honest, I wanted to turn around and go back to sleep after the first few steps. Very janky feeling and tight and just couldn't find my stride. Had trouble with my pride during the first 3 miles as they were all in the 11 mm range. After the third mile I hit a nice downhill and changed my attitude. I remembered an attempted 11 mile run that I started about two years ago feeling the same way. I stopped that run at mile two because I figured my 11 mm pace meant that I should. The fact that I stuck this out and managed to speed up (to a pace not even resembling my "regular" pace) is a huge win in my book. Something to be said for the development of mental strength...

Time to rest up and cut back mileage a bit this week for the Perfect 10 Miler on Sunday!
