Took it slow, stopped for a coke and pack of crisps about half way. It felt good, despite feeling a bit under the weather!

nice long bike ride, I don't think I could ride that far. Great job!

Sarah, as you start to ride bigger miles food starts to become important, things like bananas, flapjacks, cake, jam sandwiches and maltloaf are all good choices, eat often. Jelly sweets are a good thing to have in your pocket, they may just get you home if you hit the wall. I enjoyed Milk bottles today.

Excellent stuff & well done. That's some good miles. Btw: Crisps are good, for the salt. It was sunny today & you will have sweated a lot. So a pretty good call. What do you have in your waterbottles Sarah? Just plain water or some energy/electrolyte mix? If water then an energy/electrolyte mix is a essential - plain water won't hydrate you as well & so you'll crave salt! Also, it's really important to carry a snack or two with you, my faves being 9 bars, Bounce protein balls or Nak'd bars.

Thanks, I have carried soreen in the past, I'll make sure I have some ready for the ride in two weeks. I've also been carrying gels but never tried one, I hear they can give you a bit of a crash? I currently just use water, but I'll have a look into a mix. Thanks :)

Great effort Sarah. You're getting there now. Note what Andrea says above, esp as the distance gets longer.

Sarah.....firstly apologies for not passing you the route you asked me for. I plotted it on CycleRoute.com but they didn't approve it for some reason. I'll try again and send you the link if successful. Secondly ...well done on a great ride. What was the route?

Thanks Terry, I kinda made something up based on your route. Went fleet -> winchfield -> odiham -> greywell (I think) -> hatch. We stopped for a coke at the hatch pub, then went back a slightly different route, down frog lane (I remember that but can't remember the village we went through!) back to odiham and past the air base, then well, crondall and back to fleet. It was a great ride, I loved it! Aiming to do 42-45 this weekend, if you have any suggestions I'd love to hear them!
