I was smarter than my garmin (for just a bit) and figured out how to set it for intervals . . . so I did this in a 4:2 run/walk. It actually felt pretty good and I may try to work up to a 5:1 for the race. I think this will help my confidence, too, so I don't feel like I'm "failing" by randomly stopping to walk (and then never getting back up to a run). We'll see. . .

Way to go, Sara! Don't EVER this you are failing! I know exactly how you feel and this week, my goal is to NOT beat myself up by what I am "not" doing! Whatever I do, is a step in the right direction. Many people I train with really like interval/run-walk training - and some people swear by it! I am interested to hear more about how it goes!

I definitely agree with Sara, don't ever feel like you are failing. You have done such an awesome job with your training! It's really frustrating when your body and brain seem to be on different plans and one decides to walk when the other doesn't agree. I've also heard wonderful things about walk/run interval training so you'll have to keep us posted. I'd love to hear how it's working out! Keep your head up and be proud of all that you've accomplished!

Oh, I forgot to say nice job on outsmarting your garmin! My knowledge is pretty much limited to stopping, starting and saving so I'm impressed.
