In 2010 I had massive brain surgery, followed by spinal cord surgery. I'm trying to find my way back to the runner I used to be.

WOW! This was INTENSE. All my muscle groups were literally quivering near the end (okay, sometimes near the beginning) of each set! For those of you not familiar with The Bar Method, my sister in LA is a professional choreographer/dancer and turned me onto this. It is a combination of interval training, isometrics, dance conditioning and a sprinkle of yoga/physical therapy stretching and elongating muscles. It is an amazing workout. My legs are like jelly, my whole body feels like it's buzzing, and I have sweat dripping down my forehead. I'm in love with this workout, running tightens my long muscles and I could feel some amazing stretching (especially in my hip flexor). All in all, awesome. It totally kicked my ass in muscles I didn't even know were in my ass. For more information on Bar Method, go to Burr Leonard's blog: http://blog.barmethod.com

My Bar Method usually involves stools, dart boards, and pool tables, but it's not usually an effective fitness regimen. Yours sounds healthier. Good job!!

Tracey, we could schedule some time to do this together! I'll email you. I thought of you a lot during this. There are so many beautiful barre poses and graceful but powerful moves. (then they hit you with something that makes your legs quiver and want to fall over...haha!) I'll email you. :D
