    great Refine method 01:00

As usual, awesome class. Box step ups to lunges. Spider-man push-ups. Kettle bell box squats, kneeling lat pull downs. Hip lifts. Power sets included kettle bell swings. Brynn gave me a 14lb KB. My... read more

    good 5.5 mi 00:52 09:27 pace

This was the redemption run. I have felt miserable all week with a cold which worsened into bronchitis. Not ideal for the most important training week. Took a week off and today was my first run. F... read more

I've taken SLT before a scheduled run in the past and I've been fine. Since today's class was uber-hard the run sucked. Anyhow, I chugged along and did my 5 miles.Wasn't fun but... read more

Ooh, I know that feeling. Still it's awesome that you gave yourself some practice running on dead legs! Good luck with the 19 miler!

    good SLT 50:00

Wow. That was a really hard class. But I loved it. Natalie kept it going non-stop. Lots of pike-to-plank moves. Man, bad idea to have scheduled this class right before my run because I was spent at... read more

nice job Sam! I eat the same as I do before any long run: oatmeal with banana, cinnamon, & peanut butter. Maybe you need more fuel during the run? How often are you taking nutrition?

That's more than my pre-run meal. I will definitely take something more substantial. I take a gel every 5 miles. That's good enough, no?

Take each week at a time! Its crazy humid out there right now which might have had an impact on you. But you can do it! Two weekends ago I could barely do 9 and last weekend I did 14 with no problem. Just know you can do it & you will

Sorry you had a crappy run! It depends on your overall goals, your goal for that specific run, etc. (sorry, that's not an answer!)

I guess my goal right now is to build endurance. So I feel like I should push through the discomfort. What doesn't kill me is hopefully making me stronger!

I think crummy weather does make one a stronger runner as long as the weather doesn't create unsafe conditions.
