good Railtrail - March 7, 2010 10 km 00:58 6.4mph pace

Super slow pace with the kids and me with my first real try with my clipless (clip-on?) cycling shoes ... I use them on the trainer, but this was my first outdoor ride with them. I'm officially a real MTBer, because I couldn't get my shoes unclipped when I hit a patch of snow and fell over. Go me! It wasn't a very long ride either. I was pulling the trailer with Ethan in it, and Michael had Lily on the trail-a-bike too. Vickey came with too. Just ignore the pace, it's embarrassing really. A lot of stop-and-go ... but at least we were outside! Woohoo!

You said it! At least you were outside, and how great is it that you can take all kids with you!!! You guys are awesome!!! Wish you were my parents lol.
Hope everyone's ok from the fall!!! Sounds like you at least had a soft (maybe wet) landing?! :)

I'm fine from the fall, thanks. Ethan is okay too because the way the trailer attaches to the bike, it doesn't tip over when my bike goes over. I landed in the snow, so any potential injuries were iced right away.

Hope you heal up soon. I hate clipless pedals. I will only wear them where it is extremely flat and un-dangerous!

Thanks ... the only thing not healed is my ego. LOL

Well luckily there weren't a million people standing around! Those are the worst!

I can only imagine! My husband had a silly grin on his face ... like he was waiting for it ... as some sort of initiation process. Who knows?!?! I guess I passed the test though. :)

I remember the first time I used those, I fell over on a log crossing and hurt my tailbone and ankle. The second time, I fell over for no apparent reason (was standing still talking). The last one was embarassing since there were a ton of people waiting there!
