Ambleside to Coniston, recce-ing the night time section of our 50 miler. Began at 9pm after a pint with our guides, then off up some steep climbs into the hills.
Beautiful countryside, but got quite dangerous underfoot as it got darker. Great fun overall, with the walk run strategy it was a very long time out, but good for preserving energy. Felt I could have gone on much longer. Quite confident for July now. Will be tough, but definitely beatable.
