Thanks Jeremy. There may have been some motivation from the world class female triathlete who was kicking my trash in my lane. We have a couple of world class athletes who swim here occasionally and they are always a great motivation.

  14. Isn't it odd how what may seem perfectly normal to you appears extreme to others. My wife commented how swimming two miles everyday is a perfect example of my personal intensity and competitiv... read more

Happens to all of us. They don't understand until they're truly dedicated to their own goal (of whatever kind) and then you turn the tables and say, "SEE?"

yeah. others think it's something that you don't really want to do, but force yourself to with willpower. Whereas we here understand. You'd feel like crap if you didn't do it, and it's an addiction!

2 miles seems like a lot to people because there are tons of people who can't swim more than a few lengths of the pool. I think it's awesome and if I didn't love running so much I could spend that time swimming.

Scott, I pulled a solo Thanksgiving once and agree it was weird. Having spent one third of my life traveling away from my family I'm used to the loneliness, but Holidays are so very different, almost an exponential function. Good luck with Christmas. May you have better circumstances and a Happy Christmas.
