great San Diego Rock 'n Roll Half Marathon 13.23 mi 01:31 06:53 pace

2nd fastest half performance! I wanted to use the 1:35 pacer for most of the race and then try to pick it up for the last few miles. Ended up running w/ her for 1, maybe 2 miles? I was on my own for most of the way, but I ran a smart race (very rare). Felt pretty good throughout and kept a consistent pace (downhills helped). Hoping Middalia did OK too!!

Thanks all, it's races like these that make me want to sign up for another right away! But, I think I will take a few days to recover, legs were sore within hours of the race!

Great to see your race strategy paid off so well. I kept wondering if the sun was going to be a factor. Seems it spurred you on.

@Anne My strategy: run fast enough to avoid the sun! Lol, it's always the same (although not always successful): don't start off too fast and try to run with the faster runners and ruin the rest of my race. I'm sore from head to toe, but it was so worth it!
