Good luck! The golf ball trick always works for me- although it's not really a golf ball, it's a golf ball sized ball covered with little massager nubs. It's the same thing Rgbytrtl mentioned.

Heh, I love the metaphor!! You know, I didn't see any injuries until my second marathon training cycle, and now I know that i have to be careful - but that first time, it was like I was invincible!

It makes sence. And maybe so, because I have noted some of my most enlightening moments have come during or after long or strenuous runs like this one. Love it!

I haven't been running lately, but I haven't been just sitting on the couch. Behold! Pisgah National Forest, John Rock! I hiked 13 miles that day. Hiking is my new crush.

Join a gym! Most will give you a quick orientation on how to use the equipment. Some even have trainers that will set you up with a training plan based on your goals!

Go for it. You know you'll kick the gym's ass after you get a nice tour of it and someone to show you how to use some of the equipment. easy peasy! you got this, Shelby! :)

I agree with the others; you should join a gym and once there start going to a couple of fitness classes. That will give you a chance to work with a few of the trainers. Once you find one you like approach them about helping you with the other equipment.
