Hi, my name is Chris. I ended my running streak after 135 days. I'll keep trying to run better and wiser. I'm blogging about my run and my corgis :-)

It was an emotional rollercoaster morning. I was so happy about getting back into running after many weeks of not running. Then I was so scared and worried when I saw one of my corgis couldn't use his left front leg. I couldn't go out to run early in the morning as I planned. While we were waiting for our vet's office to open, I iced my dog's leg and let him rest. I was afraid he might have a tear of the muscle or something. But thankfully, after about an hour later, Jeter started to walk again! Maybe he had a pulled muscle. We will wait and watch him during the weekend and if he still has a problem, then I will take him to the vet. I put my dogs in their crates and went to the Forest Preserve Bike Trail with my huband more than 2 hours later than the original plan. The weather was great. A little bit warm but breezy. Since it was the first day to return to running, I did Jeff Galloway style. Legs felt good. I could go farther but I didn't want to do too much. Hope you have a great Saturday. It surely feels good to be back.

Nice welcome back run! Glad that you felt good. :) I hope that Jeter feels even better as the day goes on!

Good Job with your run, Hope Jeter is better. EddieDog had an issue with one of his paws a month ago but now is OK? We have no idea what the problem was?

Welcome back Chris!! One of my dogs curls her foot underneath her when napping, and it "falls asleep" so when she wakes up, she walks all gimpy until she figures out what's happened.

Jeter was walking and running okay until he ran down the stairs. He didnt fall or slide but he wouldn't put weight on his front left leg and couldn't walk. It scared hell out of me. I thought he tore his ACL or something. I was so relieved when I saw him walking again. But I will keep my eye on him and won't let him run or jump for awhile.

It's been too long, Chris...glad that you're posting (and running) again! Sounds like you're taking real good care of Jeter, just like a caring and protective mom does!

@ Steve, sorry for being MIA so long. I just didn't want to write about being sick.. It felt like bothering my active, running friends and throwing some negative energy in too many times. I will try not to be sick again!!! :-)

@Chris...of course the choice is yours, but I'd much rather hear from you whether you're sick or not. It always helps to stay connected to "the DM family"!
