89 degrees when I finished my run but it felt much hotter. The sun was strong and I ran faster than usual thanks(?) to one guy. I understand some guys like to run shirtless on a hot day like today and some shirtless runners can be eyecandies :-) But today, after 2.5 miles, two shirtless guys jumped in front of me and started to run. One of them has a very hairy back and he was wearing his shorts low enough to show his buttcrack. It wasn't a pleasant thing to see. But the real reason which made me run faster to pass them was his jiggling/flapping muffin top. It just threw off my rhythm. So I passed them then this time his hissing sound of breathing was the problem. I missed my iPod. I ran really hard to be away from him. Hot weather plus running hard made me exhausted. One good thing was that jiggly muffin top guy and his buddy were not running fast so I was able to keep some distance. This was how my second week of HH half marathon training program was completed. Now time to cool off!

I feel bad that I just complained about 60 and sunny. I'm not a fan of sun :-( But even less so of heat and humidity. Good job getting out there, and I'm glad that that sight didn't fry your retinas!

"Do you know the muffin man, who lives in Drury Lane"...apparently he's moved to a new location! We find motivation where (and when) we least expect it---good job keeping ahead of the crack, Chris! Super run!

This is funny. Isn't it crazy how easy we can get distracted and annoyed when we run. Cool off well deserved Chris

I think I just threw up in my mouth a little :o. lol. Good job keeping away from them! (Last summer @ the track on my gym, there were some guys in Special Forces training running laps. They were flying around the track and their Commanding Officer was there yelling at them. I sped up, but in my case, it was worth the extra effort to stay behind them ... :p)

I wonder if the forest preserve is going to get a code name like the Stinky Gym?

@Gozling, usually I'm more than okay with big people on the trail. Coming outside and exercising is great thing! I just didn't describe more about that guy I saw today to save you guys from a weird image :-) Well... his muffin top moved in a really strange way.

That's why, no matter the heat, you will not see me without a shirt in public.
