The pace sounds slow, but this run was all about incorporating strength training into the workout. The first mile out was a warmup followed by 5x hill repeats. After the hills we did a slow jog/stretch out, then found a less steep hill area where we ran 5x repeats again. Instead of running up the hill, however, we did random exercises like running backward or lunges. That was quite the wakeup: my legs felt like an engine that was about to overheat! In my mind I could see smoke coming out of them! After the lunges we did a nice cooldown to finish the run. It may sound slow, but it was a good workout!
