      Um, well, long story. I wanted to do both the Derby marathon here and the Flying Pig in Cincy. Last year they were on different weekends. This year, one is Saturday and the other is Sunday. So I am doing the Mini on Saturday, then driving up to Cincinnati for the full Flying Pig. In hindsight, it's probably stupid, but I'm doing it anyway. Once I get an idea in my head, I'm too stubborn to let it go. It'll probably be fine.

      Thanks for the advice on the shin splints. I'm taking a couple days off to rest. There's a 5k here in Louisville (Throo the Zoo) that I'd like to run in.. I just have to get past these stupid splints lol.

    So glad it's warm in the morning now because I have a serious obsession with sweating. Tomorrow I'm doing a long run of an as-of-yet undetermined length. We'll see how I feel at 6 AM.

    This is all I had time for this morning because I have to work early and I didn't want to wake up at 3 AM. I discovered I got a blister from my 21-miler Saturday. It's not bad, though.

      Long runs always hurt lol Just no getting around it. Way to knock out some serious distance! You have to feel great about the run even if you don't feel good afterwards :-)

      Maggie, I'm running the mini and then the Flying Pig the next day. I have someone flying down from Boston to do it with me, too. We're idiots, but I wanted to do both races! It's not my fault they scheduled them one day after the other... teehee.

    I wanted under an hour. I did not get it. I thought I ran my heart out, but I guess it wasn't hard enough. After this run, I physically feel great, but I mentally want to quit.

      I've had races where I could definitely relate to that statement afterwards "I physically feel great, but I mentally want to quit"...usually I'm very fast the next race (more focused training and racing coming from the disappointment) :-) So good luck next time out!
