Tempo Attempt. Or rather, how NOT to do a tempo run.
8:31, 8:41. Felt like death: walked 90 seconds, 9:13, walked for 60 seconds, 8:56, 9:00, .14@8:40 pace. .75 uphill walk/cool down.
Clearly my head got too big. I thought I would just try to keep running at that awesome pace at which I started...then it became really hard and my HR got really high so I walked until my HR came down to a more normal level. I felt better on the next mile, but still felt really labored, so I walked again. Finally felt normal again on the last 2.14 miles. Moral of the story: Don't start too fast, you'll lose all that time you gained.

Also, I probably should've saved a fast tempo run for early morning, not after 4pm in mid-upper 70s+ full sun.
