The top of my foot is sore after the Disaster15k on Saturday. I think it was from lacing/tying my laces too tight when my feet were numb after standing around for over an hour. But I looked on the internets, read about metatarsals and sesamoids and started to get paranoid about a stress fracture. To be sure, I loosened my laces in that spot. My foot felt fine walking around all day and for all the jumping around we did in boot camp for an hour, but to be sure, I wanted to try a quick run to make sure it didn't hurt on impact. I felt great. My verdict is that it's just some soreness from cinching the crap out of my shoes on my numb feet Saturday morning.
Also, not a bad pace for this short run considering there was a decent incline and I stopped to walk for 50 seconds after someone's sheep dog came out to bark at me, and it was unclear whether or not they had invisible fencing.
Still 57 out at 7pm. In December.
