Starting to get into some distance in my Half training: First 10 miler.
Ran with a friend through downtown Greenville up the Swamp Rabbit Trail. Beautiful geography/scenery. Am more of a "lone runner", but was DEFINITELY a nice change of pace to have company: especially on a long run!
Hip flexor developed a bit of soreness in miles 6,7. However, worked through it rather quickly. Have had to revert back to wearing the compression sleeves on my legs: calves getting a bit stiff during runs, of any distance.
Payed special attention to my diet these past three days leading into this long run. Have been studying up on nutrition and how it's often the missing link in maximizing performance. Subsequently, was a bit bummed as I took a bit of fatigue with me from the start. Packed a good amount of carbs and protein into the past 72 hours, plenty of hydration... However, and this is a BIG "HOWEVER", have not been getting adequate rest. ARGH! When I can get all my ducks in a row, gonna rock it!!! :)
P.S. Been so busy lately, with little free time (and what "free time" I steal am running!) haven't had the opportunity to post my workouts or follow/comment on yours! I miss you dm friends!! :)
