i bought these 2 goldfish for .30 cents last week thinking it'd be nice and relaxing to watch them swim around once in a while.
well...first came the fish bowl which lasted 2 days before i realized i had to get a bigger tank, then came the filter, ph kit, ammonia tester, water treatment, a weekend where i had to drive them 100 miles one way and 100 miles back in my car because nobody was around to feed them....basically for .30 cents worth of fish i've spent about $200.00 bucks on their house and most of my time trying to figure out how not to kill them.
what does that have to do with running at the beach you ask? nothing....except the ocean is the world's largest fish bowl and i could just go visit it for free.
my fish hide when i'm around anyway so it's pretty much just staring at a bowl of $200.30 water without a sunset or the sound of the waves crashing against the shore....do they sell sunsets and ocean sounds at petco too?

You are the world's most devoted goldfish owner - clearly!! :D I also like the analogy! heehee

Awwww. You know the larger the tank the easier to take care of them. plus Goldfish, man they are kind of dirty fish and harder to take care of than some of the smaller, brighter fast swimmers...I've had a 55 gal for a few years now. Rarely kill fish. Nice run though...

holy carp, you gotta be a scientist to keep some of these fish alive! yeah, if i had known about goldfish beforehand i would've gotten a smaller breed. i didn't realize how much room they really need.

At least when they kick the bucket it will only be 30 CENTS PER FISH.......If you dollar cost average that over a 1000 fish in a lifetime it's not to bad......lol

Hilarioius!!!!! Danger, I suggest replacing those fish with more expensive, colorful ones with personality. Seriously, at this point what do you have to lose . . . but more money? (-;

@paula, i would but they have names now and i can't just replace my friends because they're not exactly who i want them to be haha

Great run. As for the fish--tropical fish are easier to keep alive than goldfish. We just got some little water frogs. They seem indestructible and they're cute!
