    10 in the bank. I think I figured out the glitch in HR strap so 135 ave. and 152 peak should be accurate. If you have a Suunto keep the contacts where the straps connect to the main part clean!

      With the Garmin, they say on some forums that putting the strap electrodes slightly to the left helps too. Not much, slightly off center.

      Helene, I tried that yesterday. I was getting ridiculously high spikes ....from 175 to well over 200 and it wasn't even when I was pushing hard. I knew it was a glitch or my ticker was about to play out. I cleaned the contacts last night and I never went much over 150 today.

      The Garmin was really slow the first two runs I did with, so I cleaned the whole strap real good wih soap and water (took the electronic part off, although it's supposed to be waterproof), and now the readings are much better. Still lower on average than the old HRMs (w/o the electronics), but the highs are right on target.
