Have a pain in my ankle so ran at a more comfortable pace - surprised myself by picking up the pace after 3k or so. Might have to pay attention to the ankle though!

    Thanks Fiona and Gg....pain and swelling - especially when I first get up to walk somewhere. Pharmacist recommends rest and getting my footwear checked out so I'll take it easy and maybe just go for walks if I can.

    Weren't you having trouble with your foot slipping in your shoe & then you switched to another pair? That would have placed strain on you ankle. Definitely sounds like you need to visit your local running store (preferably one that does a gait analysis) & get some new kicks. In the meantime, rest, ice, compression and elevation. Big hugs doll. Been there! Hope you feel better soon!

    Thanks for the good wishes! Wearing an ankle support and that really helps when I walk - the pharmacist didn't want to sell it to me since he thought I would feel so much better with it on that I'll be tempted to run!! Taking the stairs reminds me that it's not alright so I WILL rest and go to a shoe store soon! Fiona, yes, I have been wearing a different pair of shoes so maybe they are causing my foot to over (under?) pronate but I have also been pushing myself to longer distances and faster paces ...

    Ruchi. I agree with the others, you gotta be careful and not over do it, cos you've done so well running further this last while and the last thing you want is to be ordered off that treadmill! If you do need to find a good running shop you should check out Amphibian King in Bray - they do gait analysis and are really helpful.

    Thanks Maggy. I believe Elverys in Dundrum do a gait analysis and I'm going to be in that area on Thursday so I'll pop in. If that doesn't work, I try out your recommendation.
