PITA run. Would have been great if it weren't for two dogs, a stroller, narrow sidewalks, annoying drivers and people having the gall to be out for a walk. I did test out endomondo and love ... read more

I like the nice lady who tells you how far you've gone and how fast your lap time was. She's so sweet! :) Sorry for the PITA run - but 2 dogs and a stroller? MAN you're gonna fly when you actually run un-hindered.

:) Thanks. No stroller, Marina, and when I saw some dude carrying his baby and pushing the stroller at the 5k turnaround, I knew I'd made the right decision.
And thanks Caito - looking forward to reading your marathon results on here!! You awe me (okay, that doesn't make sense, but whatever) with your dedication to getting out there every single stinking day with such focus.8 months ago • Like

alright The 10k that wasn't 9.41 km 01:14 12:39 pace
Was all geared up for 10k, but after 7k, C woke up. At 7.5k she threatened bodily harm if I didn't get her out of the stroller. At 8k I gave up and walked home, carrying her. So still almos... read more

whoa. did we have the same baby today, or what?! ;) on the weekend i saw a couple with their babe in a stroller. actually i saw several, but this couple in particular was having a rough time with their babe. they had to pull over every 10 minutes or so to soothe the poor child. that said - other people with kids in strollers fared just fine. my guess is it's a craps shoot. ;) either way: awesome miles today!

Crap shoot for sure! We usually don't have a problem, but I think she's going through some developmental stuff. One thing about small town - we were at the ball diamonds which are kind of in the middle of nowhere when she had her major meltdown, so she could just cry it out to her hearts content.

RUN
great Downhill 8k 7.9 km 00:56 11:26 pace
Was really hoping this one would come in under 7 min/km, but no such luck. Still, improvement over my mid-week 8k, so happy with that. The hills did not get the better of me this time, either.

VERY nice! You're getting stronger and faster! Soon you will be BIONIC.

@Barb - I was a bit anxious at first - I have the BOB and it was too rough with the car seat on it, but no way did I want to wait until 8 months like the BOB website advises, so around 6 or 7 weeks I just put her right in the stroller with one of those head support things, laid it as flat as it goes and off we went. Worked fine, and her head didn't wobble at all. Good luck! And if King Leo takes a soother don't forget to bring it with you - I saved a few runs in the beginning with that thing.

alright In town 10k route 10 km 01:13 11:44 pace
Not much to say about this one, except we ran 10k. 2 more opportunities to run 10k (currently my long run) before my goal race on the 23rd - with luck I can improve the time a bit.
-
Congrats! Nice 10k, I swear you posted a 10k run last week and I commented on it. I must have been dreaming. In any case, you will definitely improve your time as you will be sans stroller! Though - I think 1:13 is pretty darn impressive, too. :)
