Last run on the Neuse River Trail in NC. Left leg still hurting, but some pain went away after mile 2. On this run I was a little paranoid after talking to some locals yesterday who said they have red wolves, wild boars, mountain lions, alligators, black bears and copper heads in the area. So when a deer crossed the path right in front of me I may have lost a month of my life. I took some pictures of it, but like bigfoot they looked blurry. So glad to be heading home tonight were I can get some rest. Of course Sunday I will be getting on another plane, but this time it will be for vacation. Maybe it is time to rest and hit that reset button before my next run.

Great run, I think I would have had a heart attack after hearing about what's all out there!! Sorry to hear your leg was hurting, I'm thinking a rest day is a good idea. Nice to have vacation to look forward to, that's the best!

Wow! I thought hissing geese and an occasional 5 a.m. skunk were scary! Bears & copperheads? Good luck as you keep running!

Lol, Rob! Just have to comment. First, glad you were able to find the trail. :-). But wildlife? Lol! No. We do have snakes on the trail, and there are Copperheads in this area, but otherwise the other animals you mentioned live in remote areas near the coast or mountains, tho I don't think we have wild boar in NC.

I have run on that trail tons of times and have never seen a snake, but friends of mine have. Tons of deer tho and squirrels and frogs and blue heron... Deer are losing their shyness too. Sometimes I worry about how close they are if they got spooked. Glad you enjoyed the trail but sorry you got spooked!
