Sorry excuse for a commute 10 km 00:26 14.3mph pace

Pulled the plug on tonight's commute. I had to remove the taping to my knee as I didn't have any undertape to protect the skin and it was pulling to much. This meant the pain is back :-(. I've o... read more

I think it's going to be weeks to get it fully sorted Kevin. The last time I had tendonitis like this I was running and it was 3 months before I could start training properly and 6 months before I was pain free. It's not quite as bad this time but it's all down to a muscle imbalance that takes time to correct and get the patella tracking correctly again. That said the left knee has been fine since so it pays to take the time and get things right.

I bet the cold does not help either - it sounds like at least you know what the problem is.

I hope so to Joe, it certainly felt better last night, I'm just waiting for the knee to die down a bit so I can make a proper assessment. I think as we become fitter and stronger we become more sensitive to minor alterations in position

I agree with you, and I think that ability also covers what we eat, how much we sleep and how much we rest. We know what helps, what hurts and what our bodies need to function at their best. Take care of that knee!

blah London bridge commute 25.54 mi 01:31 16.8mph pace

Had a very easy ride this morning, no pushing hard at all. I'm trying to protect my right knee which is showing the signs of tendonitis so it's time for some extra stretching, rest and ice

only one Patricia, a touch of patella tendonitis. I'm pretty sure it's linked to an adductor strain I picked up last season and struggled to shake off. Hopefully a week of easy riding, a revised stretching regime and ice will put things right
