It sure felt great to be back on the trail -- first time since my trail injury June 4th. Hot but beautiful morning! And a rep from Saucony was there offering test trials of shoes. First time to have Saucony's on my feet, and I'm a fan now; tried the KINVARA TR and XODUS 3.0. Loved both! The group went further but I ditched early to keep the miles low.

Considering how recently you have come back to running I think you covered excellent distance. Nice pace too. I wear Saucony Guide 5 atm. Ran my marathon in Saucony Omni 10. They were great too. I have a pair of Kinvaras but haven't tried them on a run yet. Think I'll do that after my HM in 2 weeks.

thanks, guys. er, uh, ladies. Heather, I'm interested in hearing how the Kinvaras (3 model?) works out for you -- I've had my eye on those as a possible next road shoe.

I bought Kinvara 2 from Wiggle in the UK. The uppers don't seem to fit my feet really well atm but I'm willing to try them on shorter runs and see how they feel.

Awesome trial back on the trails! And how great and convenient was that to have a Saucony rep with shoes!

no kidding, Pam -- she had a full setup - a van full of shoes, a tent thingy, even a portable aluminum bench for trying on the shoes. i guess it pays off; definitely made me a fan of the shoes.

Heather - i read somewhere that there's a big fit difference between the 2 and the 3. Ah, here, found it: http://www.runblogger.com/2012/05/saucony-kinvara-3-review-and-find-your.html -- where he says "The most notable update in the Kinvara 3 is that the forefoot feels just a tad roomier than in previous versions."

I actually need it to be the other way.... Less roomy.
