Good work getting in a l'il something today! I'm not well-versed on run/walk strategies, but I'd venture you'll enjoy the experience more if you don't wait until there is pain to walk, thus run for 30 and walk for a few mins and repeating til done, or something like that would make sense to me. Good luck!

Well, I'm a little late but Jeff Galloway has several different plans on his website that you might find helpful. How did it go yesterday? The weather was horrible.

Thanks Ashleigh, Steve and Kim! Thanks so much for the advice and encouragement - it means a lot! Kim, it was so humid, I'm just happy the sun was rarely out. The few times it did peek out it was HOT! I didn't do very well because I walked a lot (too much). I ended up doing the walk/run ratio and I felt great. I walked even when I wasn't necessarily ready b/c I wanted to sustain that throughout the race. After mile 8, I began to have some real knee pain, so I walked much more than planned.

I forget - are you training for anything in particular? Signing up for a race usually helps me and my mojo, especially if it's a distance that I'm a little afraid of. :-) If you're looking for one, the Wicked 10K is my favorite race all year!

Nice run and pace, Rhonda! Keep it up! I would agree with Kim. Once you are signed up, it gives that extra push to train. Sorry I haven't been active at DM lately. I am back now!!! I am running the Wicked 10K too!

Good plan, Rhonda! We all miss workouts,or don't make the goals we set. Don't look back, keep moving forward. Those intervals will really help.
