13.1 FAIL 3.1 mi 00:25 08:01 pace

I have been trying to figure out when I was going to get in my long run within the next couple of days. I decided I was going to go to the rec center tonight and run 13.1. Even before the end of the first mile I was afraid it wasn't going to happen. I felt like I wanted to vomit and was very light headed. I just didn't feel well and I have no idea where it came from. I made myself go to 3.1 and then sadly moved to a walk for a cool down. There was no way I was going to get in 10 more miles. Possible reasons...I woke up earlier than normal after going to bed late....did 1.5 hours of yoga this morning and was actually pretty sore since I haven't done it in a few weeks...just ate dinner right before the run...running at night instead of the morning?? Who knows...maybe those are all more along the line of excuses, but I was trying to find some way to make myself feel better!

I don't think those are excuses, I think they're a lot of reasons that it didn't happen the way you wanted. Sometimes it just doesn't work out the way we want it. Great job getting in the 2 5K's and hoping you get your long run in soon!

Even though it wasn't the run you intended you listened to your body which is way better then getting the miles in just to get the miles in!

Rebecca, We all have been there. You are such a disciplined runner / trainer, you will bounce back quickly. Once you do - you will feel great again. Wanna run 10 with me tomorrow morning at 7am? :P.

It's a-ok girly, we all have those days. Crappy days makes the finish line much more rewarding knowing the ups AND downs it took to get there. :) You'll get 'em next time!
