alright Rev on the Red Line 9 mi 01:28 09:47 pace

Mini-dm meet-up this morning with Reverend Run V., who was in the area for a brief stop en route to a nice long tropical vacation. We met at John James Audubon State Park in Henderson, Kentucky, about a 30-minute drive from my home, for a little trail running. (As it turns out, it ended up being roughly a 50-50 mix between trail and pavement. Beautiful sunny day, though colder temps have returned to the area.

I hadn't been to Audubon park since my early teens, and I'd forgotten how hilly the terrain is there. We encountered a few steep ones. In fact, I had to walk one particularly steep one a little over halfway into the run, but not Rev; he skipped up the thing like it was nothing. (Darned kids!) I made sure we stopped at the top of most of the really bad hills to take in the breathtaking views. (That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.)

Had a great time, despite taking a minor little fall, a result of following behind Rev a little closely and not seeing a tree root sneak up on me. (Rev said that would go in his report, so I thought I might as well own up to it!) Apparently, I need to brush up on my ninja roll skills ala Greg B. Felt pretty good, considering my head cold flared up a bit overnight -- I'm going to the doctor later today -- and that Rev was pushing the pace pretty aggressively at times. Great training run, though! Thanks, Rev and, again, I hope you and your family have a great time on your vacation!

Hi Tony! Tim and I ran a 5k at Audubon last Spring and trust me - we saw LOTS of falls. Glad you got to meet the Rev. It was cold again today...brrr.

Tuck and roll Tony!!! Nice run. Try to stay more upright though. Can't have you getting hurt before Boston. :)

Really nice run with the Rev. Trail running rocks, and it is hardly a trail run without at least one face plant. Funny, having lived in Evansville when I was a kid, it never seemed like Kentucky was so close...but everything seems far away when you're 6 years old!
