Fire your guns. It's time to run. Blow me away.

Hope everyone who got out there today (or plans to) had (or has) a good one. Mine went reasonably well, despite feeling mild pain in my hip for nearly the entire duration.

I've run this route before but never in a counter-clockwise fashion, so I thought I'd give it a try. I went out too fast and, knowing the worst of the elevation was on the back half of the route, figured I'd blown any shot I had at negative splits, so I put that thought out of my mind and focused on running as comfortably as I could (notwithstanding the pain).

FIRST HALF: 8:29, 8:19, 8:30, 8:57 (walked on gel/water intake), 8:40, 8:46, and 8:55 (walked on water intake). AVERAGE of 8:40ish.

SECOND HALF: 8:40, 8:21, 8:31, 8:26, 8:18, 8:20 and 8:17. AVERAGE of 8:25ish.

Not sure how I managed the negative splits. My legs felt surprisingly strong through the hills. I think I may have to stick to running just four days per week and doing spinning class for my recoveries. That formula seems to be working pretty well, so there's no sense attempting to tweak it.
