good 2 Mile PR! 2 mi 00:22 10:45 pace

I'm setting PR's left and right because I have never pushed for time. I was always "distance" which I now think may have been a great excuse to not breath hard or run hard. I'd be tired after a long run, but I wouldn't be completely zapped like I am at the end of these 1 and 2 milers I've been posting. This is really tough, but a lot of fun.

I had another evening run. At my 1 mile mark, I was running 11:30. My last mile was a 10:00!!! Are you kidding? That was my first goal of 2009 and I just did it again... after running a mile!?
You guys, I'm so pumped about all of this. I don't think I have ever run like this. I'm kinda to the point where I get a little nervous right before I start. In my head I wonder, "Can I make it this time? Is this "speed" going to stay with me? Am I going to peter out soon and see those 13 & 14 minute miles again?" So far, the answer has been a resounding, "NOPE", but I have only been back about a week and a half. I know I will plateau and I'll slow down on my PR's, but at least I wont be in the 14:00 mile category again!!! I can't wait until tomorrow! I'm 1:30 from reaching my 2 mile goal!!!

good job ray - the more consistent you are with getting out there you will get more efficient and your pace will drop as a benefit. in the future i am sure you will benefit from some workouts that you stay aerobic and some that you experience that anaerobic state (speed work). it is fun to be exposed to your excitement.

Way to go! I never really "pushed for time" until my training group encouraged us all to do so. You're right: it's tough, but fun!
