It feels great now, but it didn't feel great at the time! It was a tough run. I started out going 5 seconds faster than normal in the first 2 minutes. By 3 minutes, I was 10 seconds faster than my logged 10:04 mile. Then, I had to slow down a little.
I was running too fast because I was under the influence... of the Biggest Loser. The whole time I was thinking, if they can spend 4 to 6 hours in a gym at a time, I can run for 10 minutes!
My legs started to hurt at the 5 minute mark. I think I was a little sore from yesterday's 2 miler. At the 7:20 mark, I had to walk for a few seconds to catch my breath. It is hard to breath in cold weather. Wheezed a little in the lungs.
So, then I started running again and just decided I wouldn't look at my watch until the end. I just ran as hard as I could.
... Wow! 9:44.88 I can't believe it. THAT was hard!

That is the first goal of 2009, complete. I didn't think I would hit this stage of my training, this early in the year. What will happen next?! I'm excited!
