I have had HORRIBLE luck with that stupid Nike+ iPod thing... lol See this review: http://rayzorback.com/2012/8/22/nike-ipod-review I'm ok with out it, but I was just making sure you weren't talking about something I hadn't found yet. It doesn't sound like it would be a difficult update in the future.

Breathing seems to be my issue as well. I've been focusing on breathing through my nose as much as possible. Someone else suggested inhaling for 4 steps, exhaling for 4 steps; that seems to help as well.

Let's face it yesterday was a bear for breathing. It was so soupy (hot & humid) I was having issues as well. Hope it gets better for you Ray.

FWIW - Jimmie is onto something. I use a 3 stride breathing rhythm which works well for me most days.
