great To the Training Grounds and back 15.5 mi 01:02 15.1mph pace

Was feeling super sleepy when I got home. Splashed some water on my face and hopped on the bike for a spin. Even passed up some people on the road!

good Kickr - Pyramid Intervals 12.64 mi 00:47 03:43 pace

First workout using the new FTP and I messed it up. Was not paying attention to the workout intervals because I thought I knew what the workout was all about. Wasn't until the mid second inter... read more

great Hill work on Mt Mission 7.57 mi 00:36 12.6mph pace

Worked on going over the overpass several times. These are the only hills we have.

  4. Our cycling trip into Mexico via the Los Ebanos Ferry. The ferry is the remaining hand-pulled ferry between Mexico and the US that carries only three cars at a time.

good North McAllen 26.91 mi 01:57 13.8mph pace

This was suppose to be a NO DROP ride, well I got dropped so I took my own ride instead. Much better company and better time :)

good North Mission Loop 23.93 mi 01:44 13.9mph pace

Started off hot but cooled off as the ride progressed. Went out exploring north of Mission and got chased by dogs ... gotta love it! My Hornet Horn worked on a big dog ... by the time of the third... read more

Doncha hate getting chased by dogs? That's only happened to me twice in the past year but it was scary. I have an air horn that's pretty loud and scares them off. I'd better get some pepper spray, though, in case I get chased by a deaf one.
So, how hot was it when you started your ride? It's been pretty mild here, only in the 80s (but the humidity can be oppressive sometimes)

good To 23rd St and Back 19.9 mi 01:16 15.6mph pace

My fastest time on this route. Pushed harder into the wind and kept a nice 20 mph pace coming back. Still had lots of energy and strength left in the tank.

good CU San Carlos slow ride 22.23 mi 02:14 10.0mph pace

CU is a social ride and definitely not a race centric group. It's all about going slow, enjoying the scenery, food and conversation. Another beautiful day in the Valley.

  14. VELO
good Independence Day Ride 41.4 mi 02:49 14.7mph pace

We celebrate the 4th of July with an early morning ride wearing USA colors. Beautiful day with a light wind and lots of country roads.

good Hidalgo Loop 28.4 mi 01:58 14.5mph pace

Wind fooled me today. I thought it was a lot calmer today but nope! 10 mph sustained winds plus sucking in hot air made for a challenging ride going out.

Trying out a new interval workout on the trainer. See results here: http://imobileintervals.com/content/result-enduro-pyramids-longer-14

What are these training grounds you speak of? Was it hot again today? If so, I hope the winds helped a bit.

haha It's my favorite route that I like to take. I really should call it the Bentsen Loop as it goes by the Bentsen State Park. You will see it at the very end of the loop.

The wind caught me out a bit today - going out later in the day meant the wind had picked up. It was very pleasant though, as it was a hot day!!
