New heartrate strap arrived over the weekend so I thought I'd take it for a spin today. I ordered one of the older generation Garmin heart rate straps. A large portion of it is plastic, so it's not as comfortable as the newer generation, but at least this one seems to work! Ave HR was 118 with a max of 150 (can you tell we've got a few steep little hills on this loop?)
80F - Hot and steamy but Chudleigh-dog and I managed to keep up a pretty good pace.

Good job Rachel!

Great walk! I think I have one of those older generation straps, which seems to have become more pliable and molded to my body (Forerunner 305).

Great walk in the heat and humidity! Seems like the heart rate monitor straps would work better in the hot weather when sweat makes the electrical connection better.

I agree with Frank, I've got that older model too. It's alright. Great walk today =)

Nice workout for both of you!

I like my "plastic" Garmin ANT+ HR strap best; the Garmin "Premium" one seemed to be less reliable. (Either that, or my nose-dive of a running fall last Fall did it in.) Of course, we no longer (for the rest of the summer) have to worry about keeping them moist.
