    good cap2cap century ride 101 mi 05:41 17.8mph pace

This was not a race (a ride). I repeat a ride, which made it so much more fun. First century of my career! Richmond to Williamsburg and back. Was hoping to meet up with a few friends and ride toge... read more

Incredible run and quite an impressive finish to a great day! I bet it feels nice to have your strongest sport at the end so you can really feel like you're finishing strong and with confidence. It's great to see all of your hard training really pay off this weekend! Congratulations!

indeed! I felt like a caged animal. Just waiting to let loose. I was so afraid of bonking the first 7miles or so. It's a weird feeling having my bike leg be the weakest of the day, but again I think I held back too much. Also, need more long bike tempo rides. Thanks so much for all the comments!

    great monticelloman 70.3 swim leg 2000 m 00:36 28:58 pace

This was a much smaller race than I had expected. 40 female half IM and 93 male half IM participants (about 130 total). I thought the 200-400 size races in richmond were small.

good monticelloman 70.3 bike leg 55 mi 02:56 18.8mph pace

I went out well on the bike. The first loop I was just trying to get loose with the cooler temps and a inner groin tightness. I did a good job of pushing the hills, but nowhere near max effort. ... read more

Wow - it sounds like your approach to stay conservative on the first loop and focus on fueling was the right way to go and really paid off on the second loop and during the run. Well done

yea, i still thinking looking back I could have pushed it a bit more. but it's going to take more than 2 races at this distance to get fully comfortable with your body and pacing. thanks jeremy.

Yeah - all the training can only prepare you so much for executing the actual race. Get a few more of these under your belt and you're going to have it down to a science.
