U-G-L-Y. Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad, race.

I finished uninjured at least (always #1 goal). Maybe I just needed to get the bad race out of the way so that the Charleston Half Marathon... read more

    good I hate treadmills 5.5 mi 00:43 07:51 pace

4 miles at goal half marathon pace (7:30). This was hard. Pivotal Fitness has zero ventilation in the cardio area. If I had to run on a treadmill often, I would join Planet Fitness...

I would go insane running on a treadmill. You got it done. That's the most important thing.

Thanks y'all. It is hard when there's nothing to watch on TV (the gym plays FOX news... seriously) and it's stuffy/no fans. I do agree that it stinks but sometimes it's what ya gotta do... it was dark so that's why I ran there. Scared to run alone at night...

The BodyPump tracks are Les Mills releases, so all the music and choreography is produced by Les Mills. The instructors don't really get to pick. They have to teach each release for 3 weeks, then they can mix it up. There's one instructor who I don't care for just because she's kind of annoying when people have to leave early (and it's a 6 AM class so people often have to leave to go to work). I don't know who she is, but she's only ever been there once in the mornings.

Yup. 15 mile long run, so I needed the other miles, including the easy miles, to support it. I still consider the "long-ish and fast-ish" run the more important of the two.

This week is 36 miles for me with the long run be 14 on Saturday. That is not the problem, nor is the 7 mile run on Friday. Instead my concern is the 4 then 7 then 4 mile runs Monday through Wednesday along with my work schedule.

Yeah, it's gotta be hard to get them in with work. I work at home, so that kinda helps. I don't have a commute or anything. I do have to travel some this week and it's hard to get workouts in on the road =/.

Ha! I ate a big salad for lunch once and ran about 4 hours later. NEVER again! I prefer to run on a mostly empty stomach...but I'm doing an afternoon race tomorrow (4:30), which I've never done before. Figuring out what to eat for lunch will be a challenge.

Thanks y'all. This one was just bad. I was super glad the East Bay Kangaroo was where it was, but really wish there were porta potties closer to the bridge. I was sick all last night, so I'm convinced it wasn't JUST the M&Ms. Fortunately everything was better this morning so I could run today, but I'm still not 100%.
