I thought I was going to have cold rain when I started out today. Very cold wind, and angry looking skies. However, the wind died down, and the skies relaxed somewhat.

A good interval walk. My Garmin was a little frenetic at the beginning - had trouble relaxing into any kind of HR pace, but about 1/2 way through the warm up it settled down, and the rest of the workout was great.

The Nike+iPod however is not working - AGAIN! It won't connect with my sensor. Stupid thing. I may have to resort to an old-fashioned timer to tell me when to turn around. Sigh.

The BEST news is that it seems to be consistently warm enough that I'm back in my beloved Vibrams.

Ahhhh - life is good!

Darlene, where did you get the Vibrams? Any chance here in Calgary?

Actually, Sandra, I got them in Steamboat Springs Colorado. Apparently Fitter First carries them (http://www.fitter1.com/) as does Mountain Equipment Co-op (http://www.mec.ca/Main/home.jsp) though MEC only has them for the boating season, and everywhere else is sold out, Internationally, as far as I can tell. Desperately looking for some new ones myself.
If you find any, do let me know.

I'm only a couple of blocks from MEC so will go over there and keep checking for them. If they get them in, I'll let you know.
    Thanks!

That would be great, Sandra. Last I checked they planned on ordering them again in April. Vibram still seems to be sold out, so I'm not holding up much hope.

Talking with a sales person last summer they mentioned how shocked they were that suddenly everyone wants them for running, and how quickly they sold out because of it. I'm hoping that will encourage them to stock them all year now.

Darlene, I was just at MEC and they have the Vibram's in stock. I bought a pair of Fivefingers Sprint (they are pink). I'm not sure how my feet will do in them as I have issues and require orthotics but I feel they will help me strengthen my feet. I liked how they felt when I tried them on. Looking forward to giving them a try.

Oh My Goodness! I'm so excited! I'll have to run down and check them out.

PLEASE don't just jump into your Vibrams and do your normal workout. It will cause great pain. If you have issues with your feet already you need to read "Fix Your Feet" by Dr. Phil Maffetone. Once you've followed his instructions, you should be well on your way to getting maximum benefit out of your Vibrams.
