alright Hood and around 4.1 mi 00:44 10:43 pace

This was a tough run for me earlier today. First off, I haven't ran 4 miles since spring of 2017 and my abs were cramping for two miles of the run. I know that sounds strange, but I woke up this morning with really sore abs. Now it's a good thing they're sore because I added a weight belt to my hanging core/knee/leg raises, and added an extra 10 pounds of plates, boy did that kicked my butt, I mean abs, big time.

So the first mile was normal, but the 2nd and part of the 3rd mile, I was hurting. I slowed it down, worked on my breathing and kept going. No stopping, but I sure wanted too, it was not pleasant. The pain finally subsided and I tried to make up for some slower times , but this was about going the distance and not speed anyway. Hopefully one day soon, my body will not hurt, everything will feel great and the running will become 2nd nature. ha ha ha... One can dream, right??? My abs are so sore, I'm adding the weight belt more often, this is actually a great thing for me/my abs..

Oh that was a tough run! Ok,.. let’s try to remember weights and lifting (hard) are your passion! Running and lifting clash, because they are 2 different beasts! To help w the running go back to the basics, hydrate (even the night before your run) , eat light something pre-run , I like peanut butter toast,.. Stretch try a half mile walking warm-up ! Work on form and run easy and happy ! Your very physically fit the rest will off the bike warm- up !! haha!! coach JJ !! :))

You killed it today! Great job pushing through it. My weight lifting has really affected my running...cut milage in half and my body is just more fatigued. I have not even added speed work yet. Doing both is tough and conflicting at times but so good for the body!

thanks Brenda. I do believe it does affect the body, especially with all the lifting we do. It's a challenge for sure and I need more rest time when I add in cardio. Just jump roping everyday last week kicked my butt. Golly, I'm getting olddddddd....
