Fresh! Should have worn gloves. Time to rebuild ... I am allowed three 10-minute runs this week.
Okay start. Some mild discomfort on left Achilles. Scar tissue? Similar to how heel drops feel at the moment.
I'm interested to see how it feels tonight/tomorrow morning.

I was going to say... 10 mins of relatively fast run... but then again, it's you... sub 6 min pace isn't fast for you :P Well done! Yes, gloves and beanies are needed... Good luck!!

It's all relative, I guess. I was trying to hold back, and I certainly wasn't pushing it. The only reason I ended up under 6:00 was the gentle downhill at the end of the run.

Thanks @Kim_W, I hope so. But I'll be taking my time with this recovery and trying to do it properly. I hope you like my new shoes. They are bright, bright blue but they go with none of my other training gear (except, maybe, my blue Dailymile tee-shirt).

I am in the same boat at the moment! But I believe we will both be crossing that Auckland finish line fully healed!

I agree! The marathon is still a long time away and it's better to start off slow and come back fully recovered. Nice run Peter!

Thanks @Paul (and everyone else). I avoided lurking here whilst 'abstaining' because (a) I'd only get envious and (b) I was on holiday. Now my plan is a cautious return to (even better) form. My only goal for Auckland is to get round with @Andrew_E in under four hours.
