I took the kids to the track yesterday. They had a lot of fun! I had them run some races, and then run some of my laps on the track.

We are spending Christmas outside Baltimore, and I ran a new route this afternoon. I am trying to counter the effects of the brandy infused egg nog and the frosted cookies!

good trying out my new Aline insoles 5.07 mi 00:51 10:06 pace

I have been suffering on and off with foot issues for a while. Running actually wasn't the biggest problem, but walking in work shoes was. I finally got serious about it and got some Aline insoles ... read more

I remember that feeling myself. When you've got PRs in such a huge range, you begin to think about which you enjoyed creating most. Your marathon experience sounds like a great one so I'm betting we'll see another of those one day :)

Running is starting to get fun again! I just went out today to have a relaxed 8 miler. This will be my longest run before the marathon next week, and it went very well.

  12. That didn't look so hard..... maybe I am really ready for Philly next week.

    good 2 weeks till Philly - I'm in! 17.6 mi 03:03 10:23 pace

Not the prettiest run... I stopped a few times to stretch. But it felt the most natural of any run in over a month. The Philly marathon will be a challenge, but I am going to give it a shot.

so the best advice I can give you about the marathon.. just decide to go have fun. I didn't check my times at all.. brought my phone and texted folks occasionally as I hit certain milestones (halfway.. getting close to a meeting point, and at mile 25), I did alot of scenery and people watching and singing along with my ipod when it got tough and just ran whatever felt natural. If you go in with that mindset--you'll finish.
