You have really stepped up your training, now you just need to race smart. Just how you practiced. I always go through the race mentally at least a couple times and picture myself running how I planned. Plus break it up put yourself in position to succeed by keeping it controlled weather with a Garmin or watch or whatever. You can do this. My mantra is "you alone own this run"

My mantra is "Slow and Steady Netty". I know what my goal time is and that I need to take it out slow. I have been working on negative splitting and it works. Stick with your goal times and if needed... slow down the FIRST half. You can pick it up down the canyon and on the home stretch when you still feel strong. I hope to see you! Good LUCK!

Oh, I hate those weird little pains that pop up right before race day. If it's not feeling better I would HIGHLY suggest a massage. Holly's husband is magical, honestly he really is. You were super speedy though so great work!!!

While I haven't ran a marathon, I really think tapering makes everyone feel a little off. I always think I'm going to LOVE the taper because I'm ready to cut back a little. Then when it comes down to it, I usually feel listless, which makes me anxious for the upcoming race. I'm sure you'll do great. I agree with trusting your training. :) Nice run today. What marathon are you running?

Great run today Pam! You are right....tapering can be tough. But your training has been perfect and you just have to have confidence that you have done the work. The marathon is just the reward for all of the hardwork. You are going to do awesome!
