I'm really pleased with how many people committed to the Deck Squat challenge. As everyone is finding out, doing one is a real challenge. Keep at it, you'll get it. Once you do, then you can start HAVING FUN WITH DECK SQUATS, such as trying the one legged version and then the rolling pistol. You can see how much I struggle to do the one legged, then on the last two reps I attempt to stand from the pistol position. As I have on every previous attempt, I fail miserably on the first go. BUT stand -- for the first time ever -- on the last rep. Not pretty, but I got it.

My goal is to do 1 today, then double them each day until I get to 32 a day. Of course that is saying I can do one, which has yet to be attempted.

I feel like a turtle on its back when doing these (normal ones, not one legged) - I can't get up! Eventually I get angry and harness that anger to get myself up.

Awesome. I played around with it some more last night and found that placing my hands down really worked. They are fun!

Ok...so am I better off not trying to stand - because that transition is an epic fail for me right now!

@Heather, perfectly fine just working on getting back on your feet for now. Once your able to balance, you can stand.

Hey I tried a deck squat! I got as far as into a squat as low as I could go, then said to myself "now I am just going to fall backwards onto my spine". It was about afoot off the ground. I need to find some soft mats or I may crack a backbone. Ha I'm not flexible at all!
