good Return to runnin - Run 2 2.17 mi 00:30 13:49 pace

My doctor has me on a return to running program, it's a 30 minute period that transitions from less running to more running to only running over a month. Monday was 6 repeats of run 30 seconds, walk 4.5 minutes. Today was 6 times of run 1 minute and walk 4 minutes. Thankfully I have my trusty Garmin 305 to keep track of this for me, so I can do other things like:

Say good morning to two other fellow runners. Hear the conversations between the squirrels. I also read the newspaper during the walk breaks, it's the free paper here in Chicago called the RedEye, so I don't know if that counts as 'news' really. But it passes the time.

Overall, I'm still feeling okay. Today I walk around in my orthotics for a while as well, as I'm adjusting to them. In a couple weeks I'll try running in them as well. For now it's just my new Brooks Pure Flow shoes which so far I like, but we'll see how it goes as the mileage increases.

Happy Hump Day all.

You were reading a paper while you were walking? And, you didn't walk into a tree? Where did you put the newspaper when you ran? Didn't it get wet from the sweat? I have so many questions. I need a pic!

Thanks all. Kathy since you asked the paper is a small tabloid style paper - think "the enquirer." so when I run i roll it up and hold it like a baton in relay races. It's easy to read with just highlights so I don't get so focused that I would hit a tree. Plus the mornings have been cool so I don't really sweat running for just a minute at a time. Good questions thou.

Nice run number 2 Ben! Our free paper's full of celebrity gossip, sport and human interest stories, so if yours the same it's probably a riveting read lol ;-)
