Foot update - Hello All. My name is Ben. I'm new to this DM site, well not really but it just seems that way. Looks like it's been 8 days since I posted my last note, feels like MUCH longer. I think it was also the last time I logged in to check on my DM friends, so I apologize for that. I hope I didn't miss too much good stuff.

I think it's been about 6 weeks or so now since my last run. Wow. I am so not into that mind set at all right now. I'm working a ton and that is helping to make the time pass. I don't wake up nearly as early as I used to. I feel off the wagon with my pushup/situp/chinup challenges. Perhaps someday soon I'll try to start them up again.

I'm back to wearing my regular shoes on both feet now! Woo hoo! No more silly velco boot thing. I still have a pad for the bottom of my foot, but it's a start.

Next week I go back to the doctor, and this time I hope he takes that x-ray to see if the fracture has healed. If so, then on to recovery. If not, then it's probably wait a while longer to see. In the meantime I have had no pain, so that's good I suppose.

Last, and probably the most cool thing is that my oldest son who's not quite 5 yet started to ride his little 12" bike without training wheels! Last week I took them off to see how it went and he took to it like a bat out of hell. I've not certified him to be street legal yet, he's still got to work on turns and stopping, but we are practicing and I bet pretty soon he'll be joining me when I start running again.

In the meantime, please know that I still think about all you guys, and I hope to be able to start working out again with you all soon. Take care, and be safe.

Don't worry. You'll be back in due time. And look at it this way, if you WERE running currently, you may have been too busy to share that rite of passage with your boy.

Progress is great. Reading a post from you is great. Seeing you run again will be even better. PS: don't forget to teach your oldest how to signal. Signaling is very important.

Thanks everybody! And thanks Joy for noticing my updated goals. I was thinking that I needed some newer ones based on my current fitness status.
