20 LSD - Sauc 2 - I've run in some $#!t. This was the $#!ttiest $#!t that's ever $#@t on me for 20 miles straight. This run was entirely dictated by the wind - the route, the pace, the route again. Luckily the roads were pretty slush-free until the end, but I had to hit the shoulders a few times. Since the wind was coming directly out of the north to start, I considered just heading west 10 miles and then back east, but I had to head south to do that. As soon as I turned south, the wind sifted from the north east and I realized my return trip would be totally into the wind, so I decided to just take my lumps, finish out the road to the south, then turn back into the wind. Several miles of that was enough - the VERY wet snow was stinging my face and I had to turn around. I doubled back to the south and once more into the wind for the return home. Weather aside, it was a decent run and I decided not to push too much since I've got the Shamrock Shuffle 8K tomorrow. The last mile or so was a pretty hard haul, but I managed. Standard ration of Shot Blocks and gels for this run. Saved the Clif Bar for after the run.

I can't believe you did 20 in this garbage today. That is seriously impressive!

I found it uncomfortable to walk from my car into the mall b/c of the snow stinging me in the face. I have no idea how you did this. But congrats on doing so. I don't think that you will have worse weather to get through before or during the marathon, so I'd say you are set.
