  1. blahJust Putting in the Miles 5.3 mi / 00:44 08:16 pace

Very uninspired to run today - only thing that got me out there was my desire to eat pizza and wings for dinner - and I probably won't even watch the game (I'm not a big enough football fan - usually only watch when Patriots are in it). On top of it a... read more

I'm watching the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet then I don't care about the SB either. I'm also a Pats fan and if they aren't there, I don't care. And, sometimes pizza and wings are a perfectly fine reason to get out the door.

My husband is so mad- he was looking foward to wings tonight, but all of his buddies that were supposed to come over, cancelled due to the snow/roads are not great. So, no wings this year...(his friends were supposed to pick up the wings).

So how was the pizza and wings? Were the empty calories worth it? something tells me they were!

Downloaded several new podcast eps on barefoot running and hit the road for 6 miles in VFF's. Beautifully dry and snowless night out there, very peaceful - this has been a phenomenal winter for running here in NH!

Agreed on the weather--this is my first winter back in New England after five years down South, so I'm happy that this winter's been good to me!

  4. Totally unrelated to anything running, but this made me laugh so hard I had to share.

    • Lisa R. Lisa R.

Peter- thank you so much for posting. I'm still laughing- that was hysterical (in kind of a sick way).

Nice, easy 5 miles in the Vibrams with Jack. Running on a thin dusting of snow in the Vibrams is heavenly! Great run.

Peter-I meant to tell you I bought some Nike frees (5.0 V4) and LOVE them...and what's more I bought a second pair off of ebay for $26! Thanks for answering my questions about them, and the heads up about ebay, I would have never thought of looking there. Great job on the run, to both you and Jack!

  6. Since I'm about to go for a night run in Vibrams, it's the perfect time to announce a new podcast episode on Minimalist Running! http://www.runblogger.com/2010/02/runblogger-runcast-9-minimalist-running.html

Planned on only doing 3-4 miles, but got LOST in the serenity of my headlamp and wound up doing 5. Beautiful night for a run, and a great way to cap off a long day of lecture writing. Actually proof-listened my new podcast episode, which I'm uploading... read more

Both my running partners turn 12 this year and have to take it about mile or so on pavement only. They're both willing in spirit. Dogs are perfect for getting out on cold days, rainy days, too hot days, you name it. Way to go.
