A very unexpected PR (24:48) by 55 seconds and a sub-8 min mile for the very first time!
I really, really didn't plan on a PR. I haven't been running much since the Philly marathon in November, last month I think I totaled 33 miles and so far I've been running an average 14 mile week, a big difference to my 40+ mile marathon training weeks I usual do. I also haven't done any speedwork, I've actually have been running about 2 min/mile slower this year because of snow or I've been running at Dan's pace. Mostly I've just been doing Crossfit about 3 times a week, so I guess that's been keeping me fitter than I expected.
It was a good out and back course. The out was mostly downhill and the back wasn't as bad as I thought it would be going uphill. Not the most beautiful course, but a thousand times better than last week's race in Pawtucket.
