10 minute PR 4:10:37! I really, really wasn't expecting it. I didn't feel like I put enough into my training and have been a bit blah about running long distances lately.
The day was perfect weather-wise; I finally wore the right race outfit to feel comfortable; I wasn't sick the night before nor did I have to go to the ER for an allergic reaction, so basically all summed up to a great race.
I ran mostly by perceived effort, not that I didn't look at my watch, it just didn't decide my pace so much. I felt pretty good for the most part from beginning to end, just after a series of small hills and inclines from mile 17-22, I started feeling it in my legs and slowed a bit but not a lot. One guy said he was going to follow me at mile 24, I warned him I was getting slower, but when I hit 25 I felt I could get a little more out of my legs and left him behind somewhere. oops.
Anyway, good race, really crowded this year with about 23,000.
