the hot days sure are a confidence buster but I keep reminding myself I'll be that much stronger in the fall.

some trails some fields. Took two days off to recover. Felt slow first loop and better second loop. Still have a hard time breathing. Maybe just the weather because my body feels fine. Stupid asthma.

52 miles (they are sweet and throw 2 extra miles in for free). It was the muddiest thing I had ever seen and I've ran mud runs. The mud tried to take my shoes hostage many times. The first 5 l... read more

I started to slow from 1:05ish loops down to 1:20 to 1:30 loops this added two extra hours than what I had anticipated. Out of 14 females only 4 finished and 2 of the 4 were way past cutoff time.

52 miles of sludge! Some ankle deep, some puddles half way up my shins and slick bridges. I survived.

Ashley I ran in reebok realflex shoes. They are more mesh than fabric so not much stuck to them and what did got washed off in creek crossings. they also dry pretty fast not one blister!

Impressive! My trail shoes are some sort of Nikes (I just wanted trail shoes, any kind) and they get the job done, but mud definitely sticks to them!

Also, I find that it's not really the week after a hard race (marathon, 50 MILER!!, etc..) that I feel slow but the next couple of weeks. It catches up with you. You're looking good to me!
