Got bitten by a shark rock while watching a shark in middle harbour.
On the back of my recent collision with a wallaby, I was watching a shark skim the surface along middle harbour when I tripped ... read more
@Kent. Shark rock because it bit me while I was watching a shark as well as being very sharp. My fault really, I should've been focusing on running rather than taking a gander. Bit bruised but will see how I go once I do a warm up.

Easy pace.
Finished with 6 x strides + pylometrics. Forgotten how much fun these are.
Head not in the right space today so pulled the plug after 8 x 800m intervals rather than the usual 10. Times all over the place.
Ankle held up well.
Glad the ankle held up. I know what you mean about being in the wrong head space. Maybe try intervals tomorrow or just a easy day instead?

@Kent. I'll take it easy today. Running back to back intervals is a recipe for injury in my experience.

Took a day off yesterday with a very sore ankle after the clash with the wallaby. Ankle much better today.
Clash with the wallaby? Did I miss something?

Did you play in the rain or did you miss out? I guess it's still muddy underfoot so no real difference.

No rain and track was surprisingly drier. Nice afternoon for a run. Took is easy with slight DOMS from yesterday's hills which I haven't had for a long time. Hopefully a good sign - although I may have pushed a little hard.

@Chris & @Alison. Thanks. The first couple of repeats, I always doubt I'll be able to finish the set. I keep plugging away and always get there. I actually got faster on each repeat this time, so hopefully doing something right.

Good thing about mud is you cant push the pace or your risk tripping. Great for just running in the moment and going with the flow.

Headed out after dark for a tempo run on the local streets. With the rain and late time, it was totally quiet.
5K warmup followed by 10K tempo (42 mins) and 3K cooldown.
After a heavy business lunch I started out slow and slowed down from there. Quite difficult running with a distended stomach! Started to Feel a little better after about 3 hours :)

Nothing worse than running on a full stomach. Glad it settled down so you could enjoy the warm night on some new trails. A great run as always :)

When you carbo load it is not supposed to be so close to the run ;) I like how you got 3 hrs of running in on a Friday arvo. I'm not sure I'll ever do that.

I definitely dont recommend it LOL. Most of the run was well after dark - makes for slow going along some of the trails!

Easy pace. Nice to run beside middle harbour in the calm before nightfall. Was a bit wound up after work, so stopped and took a few snaps to slow the pace down and enjoy the evening.
Nice balmy night for hill repeats. Got some interesting comments from the locals who arent used to runners pounding the hills in the middle of the night. Felt strong throughout.
